Trijicon RMR Red Dot Sight

Forward-facing light sensor, bigger window, same RMR footprint.

$774

The rundown

The RMR HD is built on the RMR Adjustable LED and keeps the patented forged aluminum housing shape, the electronics and the glass, then changes the things people asked for: a bigger window and a wider field of view, a top-loading battery, larger and more tactile buttons, and adjusters with real audible and tactile feedback.

The part that is genuinely new is a forward-facing light sensor. In auto mode it reads the brightness at the target rather than at your eye, which is what fixes a dot washing out when you are standing in shade looking into sun. The reticle switches between a 55 MOA segmented circle with a 3.25 MOA dot and a single crisp dot; nine brightness settings, including a super bright setting and a night vision setting, and you can adjust the auto illumination behavior and the dot-to-circle contrast. Four years of continuous use at setting 5. Same footprint as the RMR, so most optics-ready duty holsters still fit.
