SOG E-Tool

An all-steel folding entrenching tool: a tempered high-carbon blade with teeth cut into one edge, so it will cut a root as well as move dirt, on a triangular handle that fills a hand. Black powder coat, ballistic nylon sheath. Folded it takes up about as much room as a stack of paper plates, which is why it ends up in the vehicle instead of the garage.

Steel is heavy. That is the whole trade against an aluminum or polymer shovel, and it is also why this one will still be a shovel in twenty years.
